Traditional Funeral Service
Traditional, or At-Need, funeral service involves contacting us when the death of a loved one occurs. We will transfer the deceased from place of death to our facilities and meet with your family to determine what the exact funeral arrangements will be. If needed, embalming and cosmetology of the body will be performed. We'll make notice of the death through newspaper obituaries, filing of necessary paperwork, contacting clergy and coordinating the services of a cemetery or crematorium. Typically, a traditional service involves a visitation (viewing of the deceased), followed by a funeral service, either at our facilities or at your family's place of worship. And after the service, we will be there to assist you in obtaining survivor's benefits and providing help to cope with your loss. When you need someone to turn to, we're here for you. At this most difficult time, don't just rely on anyone...rely on our family. In addition to the Basic Funeral Service below, we offer over 60 casket and service packages, with 11 under $5,045. Please call with any questions at
517-372-6009. We would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Cremation Service
Cremation is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to burial as a means of disposition. Personal preference, family tradition and religious custom may play a part in your consideration of the merits of cremation. Cremation is accomplished by the direct application of intense heat (not flames) to the body. It takes about two hours in the retort to reduce a body to bone fragments, which are then pulverized into "ashes". Typically, the cremains are either placed in an urn or scattered by the family. There may be good reasons for you to choose cremation, or not to. If you are unsure what is right for you, contact us at Riley Funeral Home. We'll help you to weigh your options and come to a satisfying conclusion.
