Mr. Riley has been a licensed Michigan Funeral Director since 1976, continuing a family legacy of excellence and service he was born into. With more than 40 years of experience in funeral service, he is also a Master Embalmer and Restoration Artist, with a natural gift for helping families remember their loved ones they way they would want to be remembered. He has achieved certification as a Certified Cremation Practitioner (CCP) from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).
Mr. Riley graduated from the Wayne State University with a certificate of Mortuary Science in 1976, joining his family firm as a Mortician and embalmer that same year. 17 years later, in 1993, he added owner, chief executive officer and manager to his duties. James is responsible for all aspects of funeral service, and is dedicated to earning the faith families put in his business.
His memberships include: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, National Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, Michigan Funeral Directors Association, Independent Family Funeral Home Association, International Funeral Associates Association, Michigan Embalmers Society, Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall Affiliation, Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church.
