Vanessa Marie Ackley, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on July 20th, 2024 at her home.

Vanessa loved her family! Her daughter, Chynah, was her heart and she was dearly loved by many - family and friends. She deeply loved her siblings and spending time with family was one of her greatest joys.

As a young girl Vanessa was adventurous and brave. She loved nature, even got to go hunting and loved traveling accompanied by family, friends or alone. Besides her great sense of adventure and courage, she loved doing all the girly things; from shopping to manicures - Vanessa took pride in her appearance and her beauty shone, inside and out.

Vanessa's heart was no stranger to pain. From an early age as she was trying to navigate through her parent's divorce, her life struggles were real. Her tender heart was bruised by many trials and desperately wanted to feel well.

Her struggles continued into adulthood, her life was not easy, and the lasting impact of trauma was always evident. Despite the love and support of so many who knew her through the turbulent years, she continually struggled to see herself as God, her family, and her friends do. We grieve for the pain carried, and that her life was cut short. She will be deeply missed!

Vanessa is survived by: her beautiful daughter, Chynah; her mother, Beth; brother, Vincent (wife Katie); sister, Victoria; along with many cherished aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and two great nephews.

Vanessa is preceded in death by: her father, Bill; and her maternal grandfather, Mike.
