Tyrone Knox, age 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.  He was born November 27, 1961, in Lansing, to Alice Knox.

Tyrone began his fight at an early age as he was born with a congenital heart defect and other mental and physical challenges.  He never let these challenges impact his love for life or for people.  He lived a full, independent life, making many friends along the way.

Tyrone was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Knox; second mother and aunt, Augusta Miller; aunts Willie B. Durant, Ora Mae Vaden and Panola Morell; and uncle, Will Lockhart.  He is survived by his uncles, Eddie L. (Millie) Vaden and John Lockhart; and aunt, Gorga Ann Hamilton; and a host of relatives and friends.

A special thank you to Anna and Angelina, from his AFC home, for being such a tremendous part of his life through the loving care they have provided him over the last 12 years. Also, a special thank you to U of M Hospital's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for the tremendous care they gave Tyrone during his short time of illness. The doctors admired Tyrone's strength and were amazed that he was able to live such a full life given his physical adversities.

Visitation for Tyrone Knox will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home 426 W. St. Joseph St. Lansing, Michigan 48933. Service for Tyrone Knox will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Riley Funeral Home.
