Tommie L. Peterson was born on August 15, 1948 to the union of Austin and Doris Peterson in Huntsboro, Alabama. Tommie was one of twelve children.

In 1983, Tommie was blessed and joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Roberta Peterson. This union was blessed with a loving family of Pamela D. Lewis and Marques J. Lewis.

He also had three more wonderful children: Jerome Gilmore, Kimberly Hawkins and Tommie Hawkins, which he will see soon.

Tommie was a dedicated employee who worked at General Motors, retiring after 31 years of service. He loved going fishing and spending time with the people he loved. He was someone who really knew how to enjoy life.

Those who knew Tommie describe him as being a kind soul with a big personality who would always be there if you needed him; even if it was just for someone to talk to.

Tommie L. Peterson was preceded in death by: his parents, Austin and Doris Peterson; great grandmother, Mary Roper; brothers, Eddie Jean Peterson, Freddie Peterson; sisters, Gloria Peterson, Shirley Peterson; granddaughter, Leeann Hawkins.

He is survived by: brothers, Willie Earl Peterson, Terry Peterson, Lamon Peterson, Austin Peterson; sisters, Vanessa Peterson, Ilean Peterson, Mary Peterson; a host of grandchildren, Jaron C. Hondll, Jerry Wilson III, Tayshawn Hawkins, Anthony Hawkins, Ryan Hawkins, Isaac Hawkins, Lilliana Hawkins, Jacelynn Hawkins, Thomas Person; along with several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
