Thomas was born April 11, 1930 in Caruthersville Missouri and went home peacefully on March 12, 2013 at the age of 82. He retired from Motor Wheel and later delivered meds for Atlas Drugs. He was a member of the Lansing Par Makers and was a Spartan lover. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ella & Jessie Colenburg, James & Effie Woods and sister Lois Syrie. He is survived by his loving wife Carole; caring daughter Brenda Woods-Patrick; devoted stepchildren Darnell & Paula Murchison; brothers Lawrence (Alyce) Woods of La Habra, CA, Leonard (Stacie) Woods of Alton, IL, Robert and Clifford Colenburg; sisters Glendora Johnson, Ann Williams of Denver CO, and Barbara Jones of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren Esha and Jordan Patrick; Etoi, DJ and Moneka Murchison; Great-grandchildren Derrick Foy and Joron Patrick and host of other relatives and friends. Friends may visit Mr. Woods on Tuesday March 19 from 3-9 pm at the Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 20 11:00 am at Ellis Tabernacle Original Church of God, 1916 Olds Ave, Lansing, Michigan, with the family receiving friends 1 hour prior to the service.
