Thomas Howard Newman, "Ten Grand Tommy," age 61 of Lansing took his final checker flag on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Tom was born on September 11, 1960 in Mason, Michigan to Art and Fern Newman.

Tom drove truck for Comprehensive Logistics for many years until he took a job with Ron Heeney of Leslie, from which he retired in 2009. Tom loved stock car racing and drove his 97' street stock at Spartan (Corrigan Oil Speedway), Owosso, and Springport Speedways. He retired from racing and became a car owner with his wife.

He is preceded in death by: his mother and father; and sister, Treesa.

He is survived by: his wife, Trina; daughter, Nikole (Tyler Speer); son, Jacob (Kristikay); daughter, Mariah; brothers, Dean (Marge) and Rob (Joanne); sister, Roberta Andrus; and was loved by his grandkids.

There is no funeral services for Tom, but the family will be celebrating his life later this summer.
