Thomas P McCarthy, age 82 of Lansing, Michigan passed on March 13, 2023.

Thomas was born on November 4, 1940 to Thomas and Elsie McCarthy in Detroit, Michigan. Tom served in the Army and the Navy Reserve. He lived most of his life in the suburban Metro-Detroit area.

Tom was a loving husband and father. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping. He loved working on and modifying cars, and worked in the heating and cooling industry for many years.

Tom was predeceased by: his parents; and his sons, Thomas and Bradley McCarthy. He is survived by: his siblings, Frank McCarthy, Dan McCarthy, Mike McCarthy and John Copa and their families; his former spouse, Evelyn McCarthy; his step-sons, Chris Swystun and Jason Swystun.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cancer Research in Thomas' name.

A final committal prayer will be performed and a US Flag will be presented by the Army at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. The family is planning a Celebration of Tom's Life in the late Spring to early Summer.
