SFC Thomas C. LaForge, beloved husband and father, passed away on June 7, 2024 at the age of 65 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments; he will be forever missed. Tom was a man of immense humor and wisdom and used these gifts to make his family feel loved and cherished.

Known for his love of hunting, fishing, and tinkering; Tom was the guy you would want in your car if you were broken down at the side of the road. Tom loved to cook, and was known for his homemade rolls and desserts. The one thing he loved more than cooking was coffee, and never went more than a few hours without a cup. This love of his was so great that during his time in the service the one personal item worth the added weight in his ruck sack during a jump was a moka pot.

ALWAYS up for a twenty-hour car ride, Tom's love of travel ran deep. Tom was forever looking for a good deal on cars and campers that he could fix up and hit the road with to take his family on beautiful vacations. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Tom retired from the US Army after 22 years of service, and from General Motors after a 20-year career.

Tom is survived by: his wife, Doris (Pieper) LaForge, whom he married on December 12, 1986; and their two children, Megan (Kyle) Burke and Gavin LaForge; sister, Cathy Damon; brother, John (Sara) LaForge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Louis and Georgia LaForge; brothers, Ron and Gary LaForge; sister, Brenda Rose; and best friend, (love you like a brother, only different) Howard Overracker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Tom's name to Special Days Camp (specialdays.org) or Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
