Theresa Akins, made her transition on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the age of 58, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Theresa (Bell) Akins was born on December 20, 1963 to Willie B. and Mary Louise Bell in Tiptonville, TN the ninth of ten children.

Theresa attended Dyersburg's public school and graduated from Dyersburg High School. Theresa attended Lansing Community College where she received an Associate's Degree in Business.

Theresa, relocated to Lansing, MI in August 2001 with her son, Mario (whom she deeply loved). Theresa, had a smile and laughter that would light up a room. Soon after moving to Lansing, she joined the New Hope Church of God in Christ in November 2001 under the late Elder Willie Wade (founder) and the late Elder James Martin. Theresa faithfully attended Sunday school, and was the Sunday school secretary, Prayer and Bible Band (P&BB), Young Peoples Willing Workers (Y.P.W.W), head of video ministry, kitchen coordinator and recently Sunday school teacher. Theresa was an outstanding reader and often called on to read in the bible study sessions.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie B. and Mary Louise Bell; brother, Willie James Bell; and sister, Geneva Bell.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Mario Akins (Erica Smith) of Pompano Beach, FL; three g randchildren (that she truly, truly, truly adored), Leilah, Brycen and Gunner; three brothers, David L. Bell of Paducah, KY; Joe Bell of Jackson, TN and Johnny Bell of Lansing, MI; sisters, Mildred Jackson of Pine Bluff, AK; Carolyn Robinson, and Ruby Carr both of Dyersburg, TN; Mary (Bell) Carson of Jackson, TN; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and her New Hope Church of God in Christ family.

There will be no services at this time for Ms. Akins.
