Sherry Louise Billingslea-Davenport was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 9, 1962. Sherry was the tenth child born to Dorothy and Reuben Billingslea and died in Lansing, MI, on December 23, 2020. Sherry lived, learned, and worked in Chicago for most of her life, receiving her education from Martha M. Ruggles Elementary School (graduating June 22, 1976) and Chicago Vocational School (graduating from the class of 1980).

At an early age in life, Sherry accepted Christ in her life. Sherry was a devout Christian that loved the Lord and made sure her children also accepted this love.  When she resided in Chicago, Sherry was a member of St. Dorothy's Catholic Church, Greater King David Baptist Church, and St. Mary Queen of Apostles Church.

Sherry and Michael Thomas introduced their first child, Krystal Billingslea, into the world on January 5, 1983. In 1993, Sherry was joined in Holy Matrimony with Gregory Davenport, I, Ph.D. This union produced two children, Gregory Davenport II (born December 29, 1993) and Dorothy Davenport (born December 9, 1997).

As an adult, Sherry worked at Illinois Board of Trade for 12 years before committing herself to be a full-time mother and entrepreneur. Sherry transformed her love of Christ to helping others, using her creativity to create Sherry's Outsource Solutions (S.O.S). Sherry's Outsource Solutions specialized in commemorating special moments for others by lending her talents to create t-shirts, obituaries, bookmarks, and other mementos.

Sherry later moved to Lansing, Michigan, with her husband and children receiving an associate degree in General Studies from Lansing Community College. Her dream was to obtain a nursing degree to provide care for those in need.

Sherry was preceded in death by: her mother, Dorothy; father, Reuben; sisters, Diane, Donna, and Dorothy; and brothers, Reuben Jr, and John.

Sherry leaves to cherish in her memory: her husband, Gregory I; two daughters, Krystal and Dorothy; a son, Gregory II; her step-son, Theodore; granddaughter, Sasha; two sisters, Judith (Archie) and Linda (Ralph); four brothers, Roy, Mark (Annette), Kevin, and Clifford (Fasahena); an aunt, Ruby; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
