Obituary

Sharon Lorraine Cundiff, age 73, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1 st , 2020.  She was surrounded by love and well cared for in her last days.

Sharon was born July 26, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and May Arlene (Risdon) Smith.  Sharon was raised in Lansing and graduated from Lansing Everett High School.  Sharon dedicated several years to the Moose Lodge of Lansing, Michigan, and later, she spent much of her time organizing fund raisers and garage sales for the residents in her apartment complex at Somerset.

Sharon lived a well-rounded life and is dearly missed by her family and friends.  She enjoyed traveling with girlfriends, and car rides to the country and up north, until her declining health kept her from traveling too far.  She was an avid country-western music fan and loved listening to Banana Don and Stephanie on WITL, and winning various prizes through the station; her favorite was the Sunday Morning Oldies Show when she could hear hits from the 50's, 60's and 70's.  Her treasured times were taking her grandchildren on trips and joining her children on family vacations, playing card games with her sister, Jan, and BINGO with friends.  Sharon was adored by many, including her seven grandchildren, whom she's so proud of: Seth Evans of Tacoma, Washington; Paige Fordice (Steven Cheesewright) of Canton, Michigan; Allison Sempsrott of Holt, Michigan; Graham Fordice of Saline, Michigan; Madison Sempsrott of Holt, Michigan; and Gracie Weintraub of Saline, Michigan.

Sharon is survived by her children:  Douglas J. Hansen of Holt, Michigan; Lori (Troy) Sempsrott of Holt, Michigan; and Sheri (Ira) Weintraub of Saline, Michigan; sister, Janice (Rick) Gwilt of Battle Creek, Michigan; her seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Arlene Smith; Aunt, Hazel Ewing; step-father, "Bud" Hansen; sister, Catherine Burk; brother, Claude Smith; sister, Flossie Smith; and nephew, Jerry Burk.
