Sandra
Johnson
October 24, 1939 – December 19, 2020
~ Written by Juwon Reid with support from Carmenita Reid and family.
Sandra Johnson was born October 24, 939, to Lattie and Ray Johnson. She had 12 siblings: eight brothers and four sisters. At the age of thirteen she accepted Christ into her life at First Missionary Church.
Sandra graduated from Cairo Sumner High School in 1958. She would go on to pursue a career in education with the Chicago Public School District, where her passion to teach and educate thrived.
She leaves to mourn her passing: children, Miranda Reid, beloved son Eric Reid. She had 15 grandchildren, Juwon Reid, Carmenita Reid, Antoine Reid, Derrick Reid, Julianna Reid, Damien Reid, Daniel Reid, Deanna Thomas, Jamal Reid, Tyler Reid, Sherri Lee, Dushawn Lee, Jack Reid; and many great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by: daughters, Dalphine Reid and Benita Reid; grandchildren, Steve Reid and Virgil Lee.
Sandra was known for being a God-fearing woman, with a peaceful and loving heart. She loved being around family and enjoying the smiles and joyful memories they provided.
Today our hearts are heavy with sorrow and grief, but as days turns to month we will find sweet relief in knowing she is not far away but very close in spirit singing her favorite song. "The lord will make a way somehow."
FOREVER LOVED OUR QUEEN. REST PEACEFULLY. WE LOVE YOU.
Arrangements for Ms. Johnson are currently pending.
