Sabrina Dorsey Mattox, affectionately know as Brina, was born May 5, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois to Jimmy and Norma Johnson. In the summer of 1978, Brina and her family moved to Lansing, Michigan. Brina graduated from Everett High School in 1982. Brina as an administrative assistant at Community Mental Health for a number of years. In 1998, Brina united in marriage to Todd Samuel Mattox. They had no children. Brina loved life. She enjoyed entertaining and taking pictures with family and friends. Brina love the color pink. If you saw pink, you saw Brina. Ironically this is the color that stands for breast cancer awareness. On July 4, 2012, Brina lost her six year battle with breast cancer. Brina never surrendered or accepted any negativity about her illness. She fought a courageous fight, all the way to the end. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Todd Mattox of Detroit, Michigan; parents, Jimmy (Ether) Johnson of Lansing and Norma (Robert) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Theresa "Neicy and Tracy; brothers, Jimmy, Jr., Gregory, Fredrick, Jackie, and Ricky, all of Lansing; grandmother, Florence Brown of Wyatt, Missouri; special aunt, Martha Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The funeral service will be held Friday July 13, 2012 at 11am at Grace of Love Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service
