Ms. Rosie Lee Johnson died on February 13, 2017 in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 96.

Rosie was born on January 24, 1921 in Shelby, Mississippi where she was raised by her grandmother, Mary Crayton. She married Dan Christian (deceased) in 1939; of this union was born Andrew Christian (deceased). Rosie would later marry Willie Johnson (deceased) in 1965 in Lansing, Michigan.

Rosie was a dedicated and loyal employee of Michigan State University where she never missed a day in well over 30 years, she retired.

Rosie loved an active and faithful member of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the missionary board and also as a mother of the church. Rosie was a volunteer for the Visiting Nurse Services Inc.

Rosie loved to travel with her family and friends. She loved her companion dogs: Timmy 1 and Timmy 2. Also she was a proud grandmother and great grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four grandchildren, Johnny Andrew Christian of Country Club, Illinois, Danny Ray Christian of Chicago, Illinois, Phyllis Ann Magee (Calvin) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Michelle Sheffield of Lawrenceville, Georgia; twelve great-grandchildren; thirteen great great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.

Ms. Rosie Johnson will lie in repose Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 2-6 P.M. at Riley Funeral Home 426 West Saint Joseph Street, Lansing, Michigan 48933.

The funeral service for Ms. Rosie Johnson will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church 3403 Franette Road, Lansing, Michigan 48906. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the funeral service.
