Obituary

First Lady Emeritus Rosia Lee Bean, born July 4, 1946, was the youngest of six children to Melvin and Ola Mae Young in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

In 1966, First Lady moved to Lansing, MI.  She married the love of her life, Bobby, on June 29, 1968.  To their union they had three children: Patricia, Qunita, and Rasheeda.  Shortly after relocating to Lansing, she joined the True Light Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until she received her wings.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She served in several ministries which included being the President of the Missionary Society, President of the Inspirational Choir, Superintendent of the Sunday School, and First Lady of True Light for over 24 years to name a few.  First Lady's time in the Inspirational Choir was some of her most blessed time in the Lord, she loved singing: Lord I know you've been so good, Born Again, and Everything that I need (I found it in the Lord).

First Lady Rosia retired from Sears after 33 years of service. She loved working and helping to provide for her family and even after she stopped working she never stopped living in a way that put her family first.

First Lady Bean highlight and loves of her life were: God, her family (especially her late husband, Pastor Bobby Bean), her girls, grandchildren, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, and church families.  Her love of family was so dear that her favorite vacation was traveling back home to visit her family in Mississippi.

Her other favorite past time was watching her favorite television shows, anyone who knew or loved First Lady knew not to call her during: The Price is Right, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.

First Lady Rosia will be remembered by many as their second mother because her home was always open to all and she never turned anyone away.  Her kind heart and giving nature allowed her to always see the best in others, but more importantly helped them find the best in themselves.

First Lady Rosia Bean departed this life at 12:05 pm on Sunday October 21, 2018 at Sparrow Health System at age 72.

First Lady Bean was preceded in death by: her mother, Ola Mae Young and father, Melvin Young; three brothers, Theotis, Melvin Jr and James Young; two sisters, Agnes (Young) Smith and Tinney (Young) Parker.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three loving daughters, Patricia (late Marchiand) Holliday-Neves, Qunita (Pastor Marc) Williamson, and Rasheeda Bean of Lansing, MI; three grandchildren, Ziquariah, Amera and Anthony III; Godson, Tremayne Hollins of Lansing, MI; adopted play sons, Tavaris Cooper and Fred Reynolds; and many adopted daughters.
