Obituary

Rosena Smith Owens was born March 28, 1954 in Joiner, Arkansas to Dewitt and Essie Lee Smith. She attended Harrison High School and graduated from Blytheville High School, in 1971. Rosena met and married her husband, Anthony Owens, an Airman at the Blytheville Airforce Base. To this union, two beautiful children were born, Anthony and Tracey Owens. Rosena worked at Spartan Plastic, in Lansing, Michigan for several years. She was a devoted member of Bethlehem Temple Church, the Bread House , in Lansing, Michigan. Rosena was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She was a people-person and loved to have fun each and every person she cane in contact with. She danced and told jokes and was always the life of the party and the environment. Because of her love of red, we called her the Lady in Red She was preceded in death by: her husband, Anthony Eugene Owens; father, Dewitt Smith; and grandmother, Elnora Corder. Rosena transtioned to her heavenly home on February 2, 2012, at the age of 57. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her son, Anthony D. (Jami) Owens, Jr; daughter, Tracy L. J. Bradley-Owens; grandchildren, Taj-Mack Shackleford, Dimitri Owens, Alexander Owens, Garrick TraShawn Bradley and Ayla Owens; mother, Essie Lee Smith of Blytheville AK; 12 siblings, Oneal Jordan, Mary Ann, Timmy Lee (Tracy), Laverne (Louie)Crawford and Raymond Smith, all of Blytheville, Dora Mae, Dee Ceasar Smith, Sr., both of Lansing, Luella (Ebb) Cooper of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hattie Mae (Robert) Malone of Lebonnon, Missouri, Sandra Ann Webb and Sherry lynn Williams, both of Valdosta, Georgia, and Alexander Witt (Rosaline) Smith of Decatur, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Bryna Owens of San Antonio, Texas and Crystal Harris of Miami, Florida; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many close friends, that she shares many memories from grade school to adulthood. We wish there was room to list you all. Those that share a close bond with our mother know who you are, because you were very near and dear to her heart.
