Rose Elizabeth
Evans
February 13, 1941 – April 1, 2021
Rose Elizabeth Evans was born February 13, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur "Buster" Jackson, Sr. and Dora Lee Asberry Jackson. She was the 3 rd child of seven born to this blessed union. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary and High School graduating in 1959.
She worked as an administrator in the Gas industry for several years, retiring from Michigan Consolidated Gas (now DTE Energy).
Rose was a faithful member of St. Mary's of Redford Catholic Church and attended mass every Sunday regularly until her illness.
She was a loyal family member, enthusiastically communicating frequently with our many cousins to stay connected with their families. Rose was an excellent cook and hosted the family's holiday dinners regularly. We will miss gathering at her home.
Rose dedicated her later years to being a loving and devoted caregiver to our dear mother, Dora Lee Jackson. She cared for our Mother meticulously. No one could have provided the attention that Rose did. We will be forever grateful for the care she provided to our Mother.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Dora Lee and Arthur Jackson, Sr., brother, Arthur "Poose" Jackson, Jr., sister, Corrine "Judy" Morgan, nephew, Vincent Morgan, sister-in-law, Karen Jackson, seven aunts, one uncle, and many cousins.
Our beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Rose Elizabeth Evans, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, April 1, 2021. We are comforted in the belief that she was welcomed to her heavenly home by her parents, brother, sister, nephew, grandparents, and aunts, uncle, cousins, and ancestors.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory: her sisters, Delores Jean Washington of Lansing, Michigan, Theresa Ann LaCour of Houston, Texas, and Mary Philomena Riley of Lansing; her adored brother, Martin Jackson of Detroit; 11 nieces and nephews, Tina Morgan, Chaira London, Michelle Morgan, Natalie Young, Phillip Woodworth, Martin J. L. Jackson (Charlotte), Martez Conner, Karrina Jackson, Jackson Riley, Jonathan Riley and DeSheena Logan; 16 great nieces and nephews; 6 great-great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins of the I. Hankerson, Ford, Smith, R. Hankerson, Beard, Cargill, Asberry, and Ware families; brother-in-law, James Riley, Jr., several long time neighbors, and good friends.
