Ron died peacefully at his daughter's home on April 26 th . Known by many for his million–dollar smile, larger-than-life laugh, and bear hugs, he adored his wife of 53 years, children, and grandchildren to whom he loved singing and whistling "You are My Sunshine" as well as spending time sharing stories about his varied life experiences. An athlete in his youth, Ron excelled in basketball, boxing, football, and baseball for which he earned several accolades. He then served in the Army on their boxing team. For most of Ron's career, he was a senior supervisor at GM/Fisher Body. In retirement, he worked at Sam's Club where he earned the nickname "Buttercup" while enjoying meeting people and whistling a tune while, of course, cooking everything in butter .
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph and Delia (Ferris); siblings, Martha, Sadie, Roland; son, Ronnie.
Ron is survived by: his loving wife, Alma; children, Anna Albert-Mixner, Leah Lone (Robert), Christine Webb (Frank), Niki Abdou (Hasseb), Jim (Ruby); grandchildren, Stephanie, Tommy, Jessica, Alex, Ande, Joey, Taylor, Lilly, Ellie, Sophie, Katie; great grandchildren, Joshua, Marie, Callee, Benjamin, Edison, Henry.
