Rodney Derrick Fry was born on August 7, 1966 to Tom and Adelle Fry in Michigan City, Indiana. He attended and graduated from Rogers High School, at the age of 16. He worked at Blossom and Company for four years. He also worked for his father. Later he left Michigan City, but not before reconnecting with his high school sweet heart, Janice Haynes. He meet her in 1982. Rodney and Janice married on April 26, 1997. It was at this time, most would say, God truly started to bless Rodneys life with peace, love, patience, and understanding. God gave Rodney a family. Rodney and Janice were blessed with eleven children, two from their union; five from previous relationships; and they adopted four more. Rodney loved his kids because they enriched his life and his spirit. Rodney could be heard around his neighborhood; always giving positive advice to the kids; telling them to stay in school and to stay out of trouble. Rodney was a hard worker and was loved by many friends in his community. He always loved to joke around and go shopping in his brothers closets. However, if you needed him, he would always show up. If you needed a place to stay, Rodney always had an open door. Rodney built a family and a stronger bond with God. Those two things changed his life. Everyone that knew him could see that God had really been moving in his life. There comes a time in everyones life when its time to graduate and move on from this life to the afterlife with our Lord and Savior. Let us remember the good times and cherish his memory. Remember how hard Rodney loved his wife his kids and all nineteen brothers and sisters. We should all follow Rodneys example of picking up that phone and reaching out to all of his family on a regular basis. He would call, just to say, Hello , make you laugh, and always end his call with, I love you. He was a loved Brother, uncle and cousin.
