Obituary

Roderick Lewis, aka 'Face' age 32, passed away on February 18th, 2018 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI.  He was born on July 2, 1985 to Clarice Lewis and Robert Jackson.

Roderick was born in Montgomery, Alabama and raised in Lansing, MI.  He grew up in Jesus of Nazareth Church of God in Christ.  He graduated from Holt High School in 2003 and pursued careers in professional mixed martial arts and construction.  He was often referred to as "Crazy Rod" because of his unique abilities and his fearlessness.  He has explored many outlets; such as gymnastics, basketball, football, track and boxing but eventually found a passion in mixed martial arts.  His energy and charisma often captivated any room he was in and his honesty was sometimes harsh but most times accurate.  Roderick did everything to the extreme, it was his gift and curse.  He fought hard, yelled loud, ran fast, punched hard and most importantly loved hard.

Roderick enjoyed dancing, singing, working out and anything that incorporated entertaining people.  He sought attention and love.  He will make you laugh and cry, hate him and love him within 30 minutes.  He lived a life maximizing moments and expressing his emotions.

Roderick was unique and he was unapologetically himself.  He lived a life impacted every person he made contact with.

Roderick is survived by his mother Clarice Lewis, brothers; Robert Lewis, Romney Lewis and children; Roevon DaGod, Senkahria DaGod and Keyondrick DaGod.

Special extended family that he called Grandpa and Grandma Pastor Aaron & First Lady Virgie Milton, many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends around the world.

Mr. Lewis will lie in repose on Sunday, February 25th from 1-5pm at the Riley Funeral Home.  Funeral services for Mr. Lewis will be held at 10 am, on Monday, February 26 at New St Paul Church of God in Christ, located at 1717 Cavenaugh, Lansing Mi. Colors are blue and silver
