Obituary

Robert E. Winter was born on April 27, 1947 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Albert and Antoinette Winter.

Robert graduated from Charles E. Chadsey High School in Detroit, Michigan on June 23, 1967. After high school, Robert had numerous jobs. He worked at Awry Bakery, the United States Postal Service, were he served for 39 years before retiring on October 31, 2009, and currently at Peckham for more than 5 years.

While in high school, Robert fell in love with tennis and cake decorating. Often, through the years, people would request a cake from Robert for special occasions, birthdays and even weddings.  After high school, he enjoyed bowling and traveling, especially visiting Hawaii. You could also find Robert enjoying the outdoors. In later years, he especially liked camping and fishing. Robert also took pride in his home landscaping.

In 1987, Robert met his wife, Nancy, in Flint, Michigan at a church revival for the deaf. One year later, they were married. Almost three years later, they were blessed with a daughter, Ameris Janeal Winter.

Robert was a Christian. He currently attended Life Christian Church in Lansing and Capital City Baptist Church in Holt. If you knew Robert, you knew that he was gentle, patient, kind, loving, easy to get along with, nonjudgmental and a good listener.

Robert went to be with the Lord to his eternal rest on Monday, December 30, 2019. Robert is preceded in death by: his parents, Albert and Antoinette Winter and his sister, Dianna Schutt.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Nancy A. Winter; daughter, Ameris Janeal Winter of Grawn, Michigan; granddaughter, Eliyah Rose Grace of California; sister, Angie Stier; brother, Ronald Winter; three nieces; three nephews; six great nieces and nephews; parents-in-law, Edward and Rita Steenwk; and a host of other relative and friends.

Services for Mr. Robert Winter will are currently pending and will be rescheduled.
