The Angels came for Robert and carried him home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. Born on December 14, 1953, in Beaumont, Texas. Robert was the sixth of seven children born to the late Rev. Homer Lartigue and First Lady Emily Coward Lartigue.

Growing up in Beaumont as part of a large family, Robert experienced the close bonds and shared experiences that come with such a household. The values imparted by his parents provided a strong support system. Throughout his life, Robert maintained enduring relationships with his siblings and extended family. The memories created together are cherished by those who were part of his journey.

Robert is remembered by: his siblings, Annette Octavia, Cassie Jean, Casey Jones Sr., Herman James Sr., Elder Homer Jr. (Lessie), Roland Edwin (Delma); and numerous other extended family members.

His story is one of connection woven from moments of laughter and shared experiences. Robert, his parents and youngest sister relocated to Lansing in 1967. His father was the pastor at True Light Baptist Church, until he gained his wings in 1975.
