Obituary

Reginald Owen Wigg, of Lansing, MI, passed away Saturday April 4, 2020 at Burcham Hills Nursing Home in East Lansing, MI, at the age of 83.

Born April 16, 1936 in Ann Arbor, MI, Reggie's family later moved to Lansing, where he attended Sexton High School.  Continuing his academic education, he returned to Ann Arbor and earned a Certificate in Electronics at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  It was there that his late Aunt Nancy Jane Hodge introduced him to his future wife, Marion Franklin Dunivant Price, at a Christian meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses.  Family described them as "two peas in a pod."  They married, settled in Lansing and raised three daughters.

Reggie took employment at Lansing School District as a bus driver.  But seeking a better opportunity, he began his career in electronics.  After working for Xerox and Motorola, he decided to return to the school district, not as a bus driver, but as an audio-visual and electronics repair technician.  He retired from the school district in 1998.  But his favorite job was his service to Jehovah, where he found great joy in sharing his hope for the future with others (Revelation 21:3-4).

Reggie had such a big heart and he was loved and respected by all who knew him.  Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle, teacher, protector, provider and friend.  He was also a father figure to many "bonus" children.  He will truly be missed.

Survivors include: daughters, Diane (Anthony) Boyd of Auburn, WA, Linda (John) Bell of Lansing and Lisa (David) Rainey of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Anthony Boyd Jr., Naomi Boyd, Rachel Boyd, Nathan Boyd, John (Lindsey) Bell Jr., Jessica Bell, Rebecca Gray, Clarissa Bell, Rodney Smith Jr., Ashley Smith and Stephanye (Cedric) Wallace, and 10 great-grandchildren.  He also leaves behind siblings, Louis (Carol) Haynie and Larry (Debbie) Haynie of Mason, Carolyn (Eugene) Price of Lansing and Anne Haynie of Valley View, TX, along with sisters-in-law, Rose Haynie and Evelyn McMillan, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marion; parents, Esther (Fred Sr.) Haynie and Lee Alvin Wigg; brothers, Fred Haynie Jr., Sammy Haynie; sisters, Mary Taylor and Aline Madison and granddaughter, Sarah Elaine Boyd.

There will be no services held for Mr. Reginald Wigg.

A service of remembrance may be held at a later date.
