Obituary

Patrice, more lovingly known as Noni, was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. She only left once to visit her daughter, granddaughter and great grandson for the 2021 Holiday Season in Houston, Texas where she spent that Christmas Day at the ocean, which she had never seen before.

Noni attended Eastern High School and was very upset about the recent disposition of the building. Even breaking down in to tears when she drove by and saw the boards going up. She, fortunately, passed the day before demolition began.

My mom had a love for music. Michael Jackson, Elton John and Justin Timberlake topped her list of greatest musicians of all time. However, if you caught her doing any household chores or in the car she was known to have a very cultured playlist, ranging from classic rock, 90's, alternative and lots and lots of rap and R&B.

Anyone who knows her great grandson, Ezekiel, knows that they were each others worlds. "Ezekiel Mt. Zion, Noni's little baby." Her best days were spent picking him up from school and catering to his every need.

Noni's unexpected passing is a profound and devastating loss for those who loved her most. She is survived by: her only child, Nicole Sue Sherman; granddaughter, Aliana Eileen Sherman; and two great grandbabies, Ezekiel and Eiella; baby sister, Deanna Costello-Kerr; and her niece, Emily, whom she lived with in their childhood home. "The crazy house." She was also survived by: brother, Steven Costello; sister, Sabrina Martinez; nieces and nephews, Mercedes and Cora M of Washington, DC; Kristy and Cameron L of Lansing, Michigan; and many others.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Guadaloupe and Carolyn Sue Costello.

The family and Crazy House guard dog, Cane, is also mourning the loss of our beloved Mom, Noni, Sister, and friend.

May her soul rest in peace.
