Ora Nell Gilmore Williams was born February 14, 1937 in Wesson Mississippi, the third of 10 children. She was first baptized at Saint John's Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Alexander High school in 1954. She loved Bible school, quoting scripture, and was once spelling bee champion! After high school she moved to Lansing to join the rest of her family and after one year, her childhood sweetheart Willie Williams came calling for her hand in marriage. The two moved to Chicago and were blessed with three children. In 1970, they returned to Lansing to raise Eric, Leonard, and Alesia. Ora was an excellent home maker and sewing enthusiast making many original designs and served as a seamstress to family and friends. She loved time spent growing, harvesting, and canning vegetables alongside her sisters Cora, Ruby, and Ireaner.  If you wanted a guaranteed date with her you just had to mention Red Lobster.

Ora joined the Saints at New Hope Church of God in Christ In 1976 and served under the late Elder Willie Wade and subsequently served as a church mother under the leadership of Elder James Martin.

Ora re-joined the work force in 1972 proudly serving 5 years with Spiegel Catalog and subsequently 19 years with Oldsmobile, retiring in 1998.
