Ophia Mae Barnes Smith was born October 26, 1927 in Jackson, Georgia. She was a retired EW Sparrow employee. Sister Ophia Mae Barnes-Smith was preceded in her homegoing by her parents; husband, Henry B.; daughter, Zella Mae; brothers, Curvie James, Charlie Frank, Sr., S.T. Jr., and Robert Jr. She leaves to cherish her final memories: her son, Cornelius Van Robinson of Lansing, MI; daughter, Carolyn (Vincent) Smith Watts of Long Beach, CA; four sisters, Lillie Ruth Pruitt, Lucile Simpson, Velma Ferguson, and Thelma (Chris) Walker, all of Lansing; sister-in-law, Mary Bufford; one aunt, Sarah Goodman of Cleveland, OH; godchildren, Mary (Howard) Shaw, Tamiko Jones, and Carlos Jones; special sons, Carl Acker and Anthony L. King; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Ophia Barnes-Smith will lie in repose Friday, June 12, 1-7pm, at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 W. St. Joseph St., Lansing, with the family receiving friends 6-7pm. Homecoming services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, 12pm, at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 500 S.
