Mrs. Norma Jean Irish, born in 1931, to Samuel Clark and Freda [Colburn] Clark in Jackson, Michigan.

Norma married her loving husband Richard Irish in 1962 and spent forty four wonderful years with him until his death in 2006. Norma had eight children, twenty-two grandchildren and many precious great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Norma and Richard loved spending the summer at their cottage at Houghton Lake, Michigan. It was a great time to visit with the Michigan relatives and enjoy nature. The rest of the year they spent their time in Mesa, Arizona and enjoyed their friends.

While in Lansing, Michigan they belonged to Colonial Village Baptist Church. When in Houghton, she attended Houghton Lake Baptist Church and really enjoyed her friends there. While In Mesa, they attended Longmore Road Baptist Church. Norma's faith in God was strong. She sang in the choir and attended church when her health would allow.

Norma retired from Auto Owners Insurance Company in Mesa, Arizona in 1993. She had previously worked in the Lansing, Michigan branch at Auto Owners as a commercial lines' underwriter for many years. She loved her job and she had a wonderful relationship with the many insurance agents she's worked with.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully to go with the Lord on October 19, 2018.

Norma is preceeded in death by: husband, Richard Irish; son, Phillip Staelen; grandsons, Andrew Emerick and Jeremy Emerick; parents, Freda Colburn and Samuel Clark; and brothers, Orville Clark and Melvin Clark.

Norma is survived by: children, Sally (Kenneth) Dettmer, Margaret Hall, Melissa Robinson, Warren Staelens, Frederick (Cathy) Staelens, Michael (Cherry) Staelens, and Dennis Irish; sister, Donna Goodrich; sisters-in-law, Kay Irish and Louise Clark; brother-in-law, Donald Irish; and many special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service for Mrs. Norma Jean Irish will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 12 pm at Colonial Village Baptist Church, 2010 Boston Blvd., Lansing, Michigan 48910. The family will receive friend one hour prior to service.

Interment will be held at DeWitt City Cemetery, 801 N Bridge St, Dewitt, MI 48820.
