Visitation: Friday, May 4, 9a-9p Funeral: Saturday, May 5, 11a at Greater Apostolic Temple Church 515 Seymour Avenue, Lansing, MI Our daughter, Molara (Lara), was born on June 1, 1984 in Lansing, Michigan to Abi and Mary Odunuga. Within a few months of her birth, we knew there was something wrong with her health. Her mother and I visited several doctors, clinics and hospitals; they all claimed it was an Auto Immune Disease, but they could not tell which. In 1994, when Lara was 10, doctors were finally able to diagnose the disease as diabetes. As a juvenile diabetic, Lara had to inject herself with insulin three and sometimes four times daily. Later, the disease infected her kidney, and she was on dialysis three times a week. Our daughter was strong minded, stubborn at times, courageous and hard working. She was a child that set goals and strived to meet those goals. Lara loved traveling, fashion and photography. Within the last three years, Lara was admitted to the hospital (an average of four times each year). While in the hospital, she said, Daddy, you know my entire life, I have never known how not to be sick, I am just tired . This brought tears to my eyes. I could just imagine how she felt, but she has never allowed her health problems to interfere with her aspirations. Lara graduated from Sexton High School in 2002. She attended Lansing Community College and was about to complete her bachelors degree from Ferris State University. Lara also worked full time at General Motors Corporation. Molara accepted the Lord at an early age. She was a loving, giving and charitable person. Morally, we are thankful to God to be blessed with such a beautiful daughter. We are most grateful to God for the opportunity afforded us these past precious weeks. Our daughter died a month ago and doctors were able to revive her after being lifeless for over 20 minutes without brain damage. Her health eventually improved. Even while in the hospital she made purchases on EBay and reviewed fashion sites. She was discharged from the hospital, and we thought she had gotten over her illness, we were elated, two days later our daughter suddenly breath her last breathe. Now we know that God gave us additional three weeks to spend quality time together and say our goodbyes. This we will never be ready for, but God knows best. Rest in peace our darling daughter. You will never be forgotten in all our hearts. Lara was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents King and Cora Robertson. She leaves many others to cherish her memory: her paternal grandparents, Eugene and Rosaline Odunuga; her parents: Abi and Mary Odunuga; her sisters: Latonya (Mike) Howard; Temea and Lola; her brother: Lawrence; nephews: Antwan and Jaedon; niece: London; many aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends. Special thanks to Ms. Fran Cook, Laras therapist.
