It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Boardman, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. Born on September 5th, 1949, in Indianapolis, IN, to James and Eva Boardman, Mike's journey through life was marked by kindness, dedication, and a passion for his many interests.

Although born in Indianapolis, Mike spent his formative years in Taylor, Michigan. After earning his BA in Management of Human Resources from Spring Arbor University, Michael embarked on a successful career at the General Motors Fabrication Plant in Lansing, Michigan. He held the role of Supervisor until his well-deserved retirement on April 1st, 2002.

On June 29th, 1996, Mike married the love of his life, Kathy Ruff. Together, they created a home filled with love and Mike found great joy in being a devoted and caring grandfather.

Mike's zest for life was reflected in his wide array of hobbies, from golf and sailing to baking and cooking. His fondness for fly fishing and unwavering support for MSU sports demonstrated his joyous spirit.

Mike is survived by: his son, Norman (Victoria) Boardman; their children, Thomas and Julia; daughter, Renee (Jonathan) Smith; their children, Elijah and Ruby; daughter, Anne Gill; granddaughter, Riley. Michael was preceded in death by: his beloved children, Michael Boardman Jr. and Mandy Boardman.

In honor of Mike's legacy and the joy he found in life, the family kindly requests that donations be made to First Tee of Western Michigan (3450 36th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512). This organization embodies Michael's spirit, fostering character development and life skills through golf for young individuals.

As we gather to celebrate Michael Boardman's life, let us remember the joy he brought to others and the lasting impact he leaves behind. May his memory live on in our hearts forever.
