Melvin Glenn Walker Sr. was born February 25, 1940 in Lansing, Michigan to Willie Walker and Ora Fletcher. Melvin was united in marriage to Shirley Branklyn Wilson on September 12, 1981.

Melvin was a worker of many jobs and most people in Lansing will remember two places he worked because they frequent those places. When Melvin left those two places of employment, he immediately went into a construction supervisory position from which he retired.

Everyone that knew Melvin Walker knew him to be a clothes fanatic, when he made an appearance anywhere, he was dressed to the T, from his head to his toe. Let's not leave out his dancing ability. Melvin loved to dance, and most dancers loved to dance with him. He left all the worldly desires when he accepted Christ Jesus.

Melvin Walker passed away on June 14, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Shirley; his son, Melvin (Sharon) Walker, Jr.; sister, Phyllis Brown; four daughters, Kimberly, Robin, Tracy and Myra; 14 beloved grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
