Zion All Nations Bible Church: Dewitt, MI Thursday, 6/14/2012 ~ 11 am with family receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Mattie Mae Chappell departed this life for a much better place to call home. Jesus stopped by on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Sparrow Hospital and called his child home with her children at her beside. The Lord said, come with me my child heres your crown. She was born in Homer, LA and moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1960, with her children, her mother and the Lord beside them. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion All Nations Bible Church until her illness would not let her attend any longer, but that did not stop her faith in the Lord. Mattie was preceded in death by: her parents; sons, Nathaniel and Edwillie Chappell. Survivors include: two sons, Eddie Lee (Janet) Chappell, of Jonesboro AK, Vivian Joe (Renee) Chappell, of Seattle WA; 4 daughters, Ola Mae and Maggie Pearl Chappell, Diane Johnson and Collinteen Nickii Johnson, all of Lansing; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bertha Webster, of Seattle, WA, and Johnnie Mae Chappell, of Lansing; loving aunts, Margaret and Norma Mack; uncle, Roosevelt Mack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; cherished friends: Hazel and Saundra Fitzpatrick,, Barbara Watson, Frankie Turner, Betty Goodrich, Helen Gervin, Dr. Patricia Coleman, Susan and John (bus driver), and the Mt.Zion Church family. Many more friends throughout life, where she was known as Big Mama .
