Obituary

Marybelle Guy, a resident of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born in Coleman, Michigan to William Lester Randall and Beatrice Matilda Seevers on January 8, 1934. Marybelle was the oldest of five children.

Marybelle was an active member of the Faith United Methodist Church and Mount Hope Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the choir at Faith United Methodist for many years. She worked as assistant supervisor for the State of Michigan Secretary of State, recreational vehicles department for decades before her retirement around 1995. She and her husband established a decades long annual Christmas caroling tradition at their home in Lansing, Michigan involving scores of families and friends. This activity added to the holiday spirit of everybody involved. Most importantly, Marybelle was consistently focused on the well-being of others, being clearly blessed by God with the spiritual gift of exhortation (encouragement).

Marybelle was preceded in death by: husband, Eugene Norris Guy; parents, William Randall and Beatrice Seevers; brothers, Joseph Randall, Lester Randall, Ross Randall; and grandchild, Xavier Guy.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, William Lester Guy, Peter (Tina) Eugene Guy, Mark Steven Guy, Eric Neal Guy; sister, Dolores (Novorro) Perkins; sister-in-laws, Rosemary Randall and Linda Randall; grandchildren, Eric Guy Jr, Shantaye (Steven) Guy, Christina Jones (Matthew), Peter Guy Jr., Derrick Guy, Alexis Guy, Katarina Evans, Anthony Guy,  Jazmin (Derrick) Guy Wallace; a great number of wonderful friends; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

The family is especially grateful for the help of Sherri Rolon whose tireless help in caring for Marybelle during her final difficult year allowed us to keep her at home surrounded by family and friends.
