Marvin
King
January 8, 1980 – March 12, 2018
Marvin DeWayne King was born on January 8, 1980 in Camden, Alabama to Lucille King. He died peacefully in Ann Arbor, MI on Monday, March 12, 2018, at the age of 38. Marvin is preceded in death by his grandparents whom he treasured; Lizzie Mae and Nathan Bonham.
Marvin attended Wilcox Central High School in Camden, Alabama. Growing up, Marvin loved being outdoors; biking and fishing with his cousin, Poochie, who was like a second brother to him. Perry Johnson was like a father to Marvin and instilled in him values that he held dearly. Marvin delighted in doing yard work for his family. He loved working with his hands and there was never a task he couldn't handle. He was a charming individual who adored his family and who was passionate about music. Sometimes he would sit in his room for hours and listen to his music very loudly. In 1998, he relocated to Lansing, MI where he began a new life for himself. Marvin was a dedicated worker for B&G Cleaners, before he began suffering from severe health issues. No matter how ill he was, he had a determined and passionate spirit. He valued his independence and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lucille King and his caretaker, Albert Smith; his three beautiful children, Sincere, Montreal and Marvin Jr.; his brother, Michael King; two sisters, Mary Edwards (Hollis) and Jovita King; his nephews, Hollis Jr. and Cahlib Edwards and Karl Pettway; his nieces, Simone Edwards, Janelle and Danielle Thomas; and a host of family, friends and loved ones. Marvin was loved by many and will surely be missed.
Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
13
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14
For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
