Obituary

Marie "Sweetie Pie/Sweet" Bell of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on September 2, 202 at the age of 83 feeling the LOVE of her family. Sweet Pie was born on May 15, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama the daughter of Herbert and Beatrice Lowe. She confessed her belief in God at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under Rev. J. Fisher Bryant. Marie recited the Repentance Prayer with her dayghter on August 21, 2020.

Marie was a homemaker who cared about her family. An avid sports fan and there was no sport she was not willing to watch at least once. If here were a song to be sung it would be Luther Vandross, "Dance with My Father" and Mahalia Jackson's "Precious Lord Take My (Our) Hand" will be recited in prayer by her children.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her children's father, Wyllyam Bill II; her eldest son, Wyllyam Bell III; her eldest daughter, Patrica Cook; brother, Willie James (Roma Jean) Lowe; and sister, Pauline (Oscar) Judkins.

Marie is survived by her sons, Rodney (Barb) Bell, Jesse (Kimberly) Bell, Bruce (Myrtis) Bell; daughters, Velinsa Johnson and Gabrielle (Douglas) Ghoston; brothers, Melvin (Shirley) Lowe, Herbert (Fannie Pearl) Lowe III; sisters, Jo-Ann (Rayfield dec.) Scott, Jean (Arnold dec.) Talley, Linda ((Tee)(Larry)) Gulley; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.

Due to COVID there will be no visitation held. Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.
