Lula Faye Carter was born February 13, 1946 in Bessemer, Alabama. She was a loyal wife and a loving mother, who trained her children to love the Lord. Lula was retired from the Michigan School for the Blind and was a faithful member of the Holmes Road Church of Christ. Lulas christian life was like the fragrance of a beautiful rose and her influence will forever live in any place she was present. We pay tribute to one of Gods gentle women, upon whose head rests a crown studded with sparkling jewels of her golden deeds. Lula was quiet in her manner, pleasant towards everyone, and enjoyed talking. She especially enjoyed talking about the Lord and His cause and would often say, Ill be ready when the Lord calls me. Lula was in poor health for several months, but never complained. She bore her illness patiently and would often try to make her family feel that she was not suffering. Instead, she chose to tell the Lord about it. Lula was a kind-hearted, lovable character, and has now gone to her reward. She will be missed by her family and all that knew her, but this is Gods way; His will must be done. Lula has left a living example of loving service, a tribute that should bear some comfort to her family, who did all they could to care for and encourage her, while she was ill. Lula was preceded in death by: her father, Bill Clemmons; mother, Georgia Mae Clemmons; and brother, Kelly Clemmons. Lula passed away October 9, 2012. Lulas soul has gone to God and the earth will soon claim its own, but she is dancing around the throne, while we are left here to mourn. Lula leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her husband, Jerry; two sons, Roderick and Ronald (Darolyn); five grandchildren, Delana, Ashley, Toni, Jabori, and Alvin; two sisters, Maxine (Durvin) Coward and Rosemary Clemmons; aunt, Lillie Talison; and a host of nieces and nephews. Some day we will be with Lula again, as well as all of our loved ones that have gone before. Some day we will reach that happy land, where parting will be no more. Friends may visit Mrs. Carter on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 12 pm at Holmes road Church of Christ. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service
