Obituary

Lucious "Dad" Jackson was born on August 12, 1924, in Marietta, Missouri, the son of late Isiah "Son" Jackson and Hattie Early Jackson. As a young child he moved to Blytheville, Arkansas. He was the oldest of four children. He was preceded in death by his three sisters.

He married Cora Lee Gunby Jackson on January 17, 1949. On July 4, 1966, they moved their family to Lansing, Michigan where they raised their seven sons and four daughters.

In 1990, Lucious married Ruby Key Jackson. He was a very kind and generous man who loved the Lord, his family, and friends. He was an avid baseball/softball player and bowler. After 30+ years in the forging industry, he retired from Federal Forge.

On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Lucious went home to be with the Lord at 8:45 am at the age of 98.

He leaves to mourn his death: his wife, Ruby; children, Catherine (Jim) Hatch of Harvey, Illinois, Doretha Mitchell Jackson of Lansing, Michigan, Lorenzo (Mary) Jackson of Junction City, Kansas, Curtis (Sherry) Jackson of Lakeland, Florida, Raymond Jackson of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Shirley Jackson of Lansing, Michigan, James "Don" Jackson of Lansing, Michigan, Vivian Jackson of Columbia, Tennessee, Rodney (Pam) Jackson of Lansing, Michigan, Chris Key of Lansing, Michigan, Victoria (Willard) Walker of Lansing, Michigan, Mary Key of Orlando, Florida, Jason (Eva) Key of Lansing, Michigan; and a host of grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids.

Preceded in death by: his wife, Cora Lee Jackson; sons, Floyd Jackson and Lucious Jackson, Jr.
