Lloyd Walter Blackman was born December 4, 1932 in St. Michaels, Barbados to Gwendolyn Archer and Lloyd Gibbs. He was the second oldest of five children. Lloyd moved to the United States and made his home in Lansing, Michigan. He met and married Eloise Jackson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in supervision, at General Motors, before he retired. Lloyd was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was well known as a Master Chef . He was well known in the community and loved by many. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Leroy Archer and Wrensford Blackman. Lloyd passed away on March 12, 2012. He leaves to celebrate his life and continue his legacy: his wife, Eloise Blackman; children, Reverend Ivan Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Constance Jackson, Evelyn (Bobbie) Turner, Lloyd, Jr., Anthony Blackman, Victor Milton, and Wayne Codogan; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Bishop and Linda Lovell, both of Barbados; and a host of other relatives and friends in the United States and Barbados, including special friends, Denzil Grandison of Albion, Michigan, Herbert Robinson of Indiana, and Joe Moore of Lansing, Michigan. Lloyd will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
