Obituary

Mr.Lewis Albert Mallett was born May 9, 1949 in Jackson, Mississippi, to Mrs. Lucille Mallet Jenkins and Mr. Albert Jackson. He accepted Christ at an early age and most recently became a member of Grace of Love Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend E.D. Clay. He was a member of Silver Leaf Lodge #534 and member of the Lansing Par Markers Gold Club. Lewis worked for Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories in Mason, Michigan for 25 years, until the plant closed in 1996. After that he worked for the Grand River Coop until his health failed him. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, and golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Lucille Mallett Jenkins and Albert Jackson; brothers, Eddie Ross and William Jenkins; sister, Nannie Bell Mallett Bass. He leaves to cherish his memories; his daughters, Carrie Beard and Keisha Mallett,; sons, Lewis Mallett, Jr., Demetrous Winston, and Darnell Gardner and Dion Gardner; sister, Jewel Wilson ( Jackson, Mississippi); brothers, Jessie Mallett (Jackson, Mississippi) and Samuel Mallett (Lansing, Michigan); one aunt, Annie Mallett Jones (Cincinnati, Ohio); 11 grandchildren; a host of neices, nephews an his special signficant other, Mary Cooper and her family. Lewis was loved by many and will truly be missed by all. Friends may visit Mr. Mallett Tuesday, November 6, 3 - 6 pm, at the Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 11 am at Grace of Love Church, 2618 S Waverly Highway. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
