Leon Smith, born November 26, 1955 in Greenville, Mississippi to Johnnie and Annie Smith, and went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2013. At the age of 57, he passed away surrounded by his loving family. Leon accepted Christ at an early age and is currently a member of Soul Winning Outreach for the Lord Church. As a young man, he was employed with Motor Wheel, until his health declined. Although he battled many challenges, he always maintained his trademark smile and great sense of humor. Fellowshipping with family and friends, fishing, walking, good food and music brought fulfillment to his life. He will be remembered as a warm and loving person and dearly missed by all. He was preceded in death by: his parents and brother-in-laws, Johnnie Peters and William Brown. Our much-loved, Leon Smith, leaves to mourn his loss but cherish his memory: his loving daughter, Nicole Kemp; 2 grand-children, Kaleb Kemp Colon and Kyvon Kemp Colon Mr. Leon Smith will lie in repose here at Riley Funeral Home on Thursday June 13, from 3-6 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday June 14, 12:00 pm at Reachout Christian Center, 5628 Wise Road, Lansing, with the family receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
