Obituary

Lee Rogers Williams, 90, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born on April 1, 1936 in Dallas County, Alabama, Lee lived a life defined by service, sacrifice, and an unwavering devotion to family.

Family was the cornerstone of Lee’s life. From an early age, he understood the meaning of responsibility, stepping up to provide for his younger siblings by ensuring they had shoes on their feet and school supplies in their hands.

Lee served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected the discipline and integrity he carried throughout his years. His military service took him across the world — he had the opportunity to visit France and Spain, and he lived in Germany, experiences that broadened his horizons and deepened his appreciation for the world beyond his doorstep. Prior to his military service, he demonstrated outstanding athletic ability as a football player for the University of Nebraska, earning the respect of teammates and coaches alike.

In the 1960s, Lee brought his talents to the golf course, serving as a golf professional at Palmer Park in Detroit — a role that placed him at the heart of his community during a remarkable era. He later built a distinguished career as an accountant for an automotive supplier, bringing the same precision and dedication to the business world that had defined his life in every other arena.

A lover of travel throughout his life, Lee continued to explore in his later years, journeying across the United States to visit family and friends.

Lee was a man who took pride in his appearance, was well-dressed known as a sharp dresser among those who loved him. In his later years, he lived with his daughter, and found simple joy during weekend thrift shopping outings.
