September 3, 1927 – January 7, 2020
Larsetta Marion Shepard was born September 3, 1927 to Henry S. Myers and Lillian Marie [Owens] Myers in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Larsetta had two siblings, Prince Edward Myers and Odessa Dixon. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. Clodean Shepard; her parents; and her siblings.
Larsetta joined Lane Chapel CME Church on June 13,1943. On July 7, 1951, she married Clodean Shepard. Larsetta and Clodean raised four children: Rodney Edward Shepard, Michael David Shepard, Susan Lynn Hodge and Lisa Marie Winters
In 1952, Larsetta and her family moved to Detroit, Michigan, where they joined Fews Memorial CME in River Rouge. Her husband later became a minister at this church. Larsetta was first lady at Bethany CME, Rosebrough Chapel CME, and Bray Temple CME. She was active as a Stewardess and was a member of the Missionary Society, actively involved in the Detroit District, Mid-Michigan District and in the Michigan/Indiana Region.
In recent years, Larsetta became adept at social media, regularly sharing pictures/posts on Facebook, while interacting with family and friends.
Larsetta leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy: children, Rodney (Geri) Shepard, I, Michael Shepard, Sr., Susan Hodge, and Lisa Winters; grandchildren, Rodney (Chenyqua) Shepard, II, LTC Anthony (Christine) Shepard, Michael Shepard, Jr., Amber Hodge, Shellie Ewing, Shayla (Leonard, Jr.) Hodge-Norman, Kelley Hodge, William Hodge, IV, Tony Winters, Jr., and Justin Shepard; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Antione) Harris, Rodney Shepard, III, Wesley Shepard, Hampton Perry, Rebecca Perry, Victoria Shepard, Olivia Shepard, Amelia Shepard, Benjamin Shepard, Julia Shepard, Terrell Hodge, D'mittri Ewing, Anise Ewing, Kaelib Norman, Brooklynn-Lear Norman, Leonard Norman, III., Niyha Batts, Quinsten Winters, Messiah Winters, Angela Winters, Serenity Winters, William Hodge, V, Chandler Hodge, Harley Norman, and Denver Hodge; great-great-grandchildren, Adrian Harris, Aiden Harris, and Luna Norman; sister-in-law, Marva Shepard; and a host of family and friends.
