Friends may visit Mr. Nixon Friday, June 8, 2012, from 1 pm " 6pm, at Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1pm at Galilee Baptist Church, 2511 Reo Road. Larry Lee Nixon Nixon was born July 28, 1954 in LeFlore County, Mississippi to James Albert and Augusta Nixon. Larry retired from CSX Railroad after 27 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fixing cars, coaching football, and spending time with his children and friends. Larry was a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: his parents; nieces, LaToya Monique Nixon and Shaniqua Michelle Morrell; grandparents, Lonzo Williams and Beatrice Smith. On May 25, 2012, Larry went home to be with the Lord. He leaves to forever cherish his memory: his children, Antonio Bridges, Amy Joe Hanascak, Richard (Liz) Travino, Larry Travino, Ray Nixon, and Christina Nixon; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Betty Morrell, Christine Nixon, LoAlice Jackson, Bobie Nixon, Mytris (Bruce) Nixon, Patricia Morrison of Pontiac, Michigan, Renee Nixon, Tonya Nixon, Orema Nixon of North Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, Barry Nixon of North Little Rock; aunts and uncles; Mytris (Willie) James; Versey (Julia) Williams, Betty (Bob) Bruce, Lula Durant, Samuel and James Durant of Itta Bena, Mississippi, Andrew Durant of Greenwood, Mississippi, Huddle Durant of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; step-grandmother; Lucille Williams; best friend for over 45 years, Snooky ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Larry will be truly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
