Kimberly Donnette Cox was born on October 1, 1962. Kim loved Jesus. She was saved and born again in 2008. She rededicated herself to the Lord on April 27, 2015. Kim's favorite activities were cooking, sewing, gardening, and taking care of her pet chihuahua, Sugar. She also loved caring for small children. She cared for the children of her family and friends whenever she had the opportunity. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Peggy J. Carr and father, Donald Gibson. Kimberly had a very long struggle with kidney disease. In His own timing, the Lord called her home April 28, 2015. Her brother, sister, and nephew were by her side, holding her hand. They had good conversations on the last days of her life. She leaves to forever treasure her memory: brothers, Richard Benson and Christopher Benson; sister, Karen Benson; nieces, Karlett and Dannette; nephews, Kevin and Tony; four great nieces; two great nephews; one great great niece; and a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Cox will lie in repose Wednesday, May 6, 3-6pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 1pm at the Riley Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors 30 minutes before services begin.
