Obituary

Katherine Louise Jackson Hubbert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 18, 2020 in Stuart, Florida from COVID-19.

Katherine (Kathy) was born in Anaconda, Montana on November 22, 1940 to Fredrick and Anna Jackson, who along with her beloved husband, William (Sonny), and sisters, Ruth Brasher and Bernice Williams, preceded her in death.

Kathy married her beloved Sonny on August 25, 1973 in Lansing, Michigan and remained by his side until his death parted them in July, 2019.

Kathy graduated from Anaconda High School and earned Licensed Practical Nurse and general associate's degrees from Lansing Community College. Kathy retired from the McLaren Hospital, formally Lansing General, in 2006. Bill and Kathy relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida upon Bill's retirement in 2013.

Kathy was most known for enjoying taking pictures, going to church, being with her family and grandchildren, traveling and going out to eat. Once she relocated to Port St. Lucie, she continued many of her hobbies and added a book club and quilting guild as things to do with her sister and best friend, Cecelia.

Surviving are her loving children, Bernice Davenport, William Jr., and Benedict; sisters, Cecelia (Lawrence) Davenport and Fredericka; brothers, Andy, John (Brenda), Tom (Jeanette), Jerry (Loi) and Thaddeus (Charlie); grandchildren, Sydney, Amara, Brevin, and Asher; son in-law, Dan Luea; brother in law, Ricky (Chenitha) Hubbert; sisters-in law, Gloria Ezell and Pat Hubbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Kathy was a one-of-a-kind woman and will be remembered by many for her kindness, hugs, support, and unconditional love. Her absence on this earth will be felt by many for a very long time, but heaven must have been missing their angel and Sonny couldn't stand to be there without his wife.
