Judy Kay
Swinford
November 5, 1959 – September 13, 2024
Judy (Pope) Swinford, age 64, of Charlotte passed away on September 13, 2024. She was born in Sidney, Montana on November 5, 1959, but quickly became a lifetime resident of her hometown Laingsburg, Michigan, where she chose to raise a family of her own, with her Husband, Dan. Judy lived her final short years in Charlotte, Michigan.
Some of Judy's hobbies were creating art projects, painting, sewing and working with her hands. She took great pride in singing with friends in the band "Dark Rootz." Judy loved to adventure with her partner in crime, husband, Dan. In fact, one of their last big trips was by motorcycle to Montana in honor of her father.
The importance of family was central to her life, as evidenced by the joy she expressed when others were around. She accepted all as "family" and did her best to spread love while being a peace keeper.
Judy was predeceased by: her dad, Ollin Pope; mom, Catherine (Smith) Pope; and brothers, Dave, Mitch and Joseph Pope.
She is survived by: Dan Swinford her husband of 40 years; sister, Kathy Pope; as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Before passing she left the advice of "whatever you choose to do, believe in yourself. Work hard for what you want in life" and "don't live over the means, be thankful for what you have."
There will be a celebration of Judy's life on October 26, 2024 (time TBA) at Woodhull Township Hall, in Shaftsburg, Michigan.
