It is with profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Joy Marlene Balzer, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Joy was born on January 13, 1956, in Lansing Michigan and was one of seven cherished children of Fredric William Balzer and Shirley Ann Sindall. 

Joy was preceded in death by: her parents; and her sisters, Marianne Balzer and Brenda Balzer Stevens.

She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory: her daughter, Carrol (Les) Buck; grandson, Levi Buck. Joy's legacy of love and resilience also continues through her siblings, Teresa (Greg) Blackburn, Lisa (Lyndon) Sackrider, Sherry (Mark) Whitaker, and Jon (Jenny) Balzer. Each of them holds dear the memories of a sister who was both a guiding light and a friend.

Joy had a great love for animals; she also enjoyed making jewelry, antique shopping and reading. Her memory will be cherished by all that knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
