Jon Charles
Hall
August 18, 1959 – April 3, 2023
Our beloved Jon (affectionately called JC & Jonny) was born at Selfridge Airforce Base, Macomb County, MI on August 18, 1959. He graduated from Cass Tech High School, Detroit, MI in 1977 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 1981. He worked as a salesman for the Xerox Corporation right after graduating. Jon was employed at Consumers Energy from 1981 to 2015 starting as a janitor and retiring as Public Information Director of Forestry. He developed a Diversity Training Program for Consumers Energy which became his passion; he and Lyle Kleman created The Bridge Center for Racial Harmony Diversity Training from 1995 to 2004 in Saginaw County and outlying areas. After retirement Jon owned and operated The Hall, an event center in Charlotte, MI, for several years.
Jon lived his life to the fullest and was the life of the party. Although he lived to the beat of his own drum, he volunteered and generously donated to every community he lived in and helped others in need whether it was money, a place to stay, a ride, a listening ear or helping someone who was sick. He absolutely loved golfing, fishing, reading, cooking, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Joseph Wood Hall Sr; his mother, Bernyce Edith Hall; his sister, Michelle "Shelly" Dorene Hall; his brother, Cary Thomas Hall; and his stepmother, Alverna Hall.
He also leaves behind: his "wife," Genia Lynn Hall; his sons, Eric DeSean Nickson, Joseph (Krystal) Wood Hall III, Jon Charles Hall Jr; his brother, Joseph (Patricia) Wood Hall Jr; his nephews, Cary Cole and Aaron Swiney; nieces, Quintera Harrison, Quansha' Harrison and Kaylan Rauch; and a host of other friends and relatives; special friends, Paul (Chip) Day, Tony Miller, Bill Kelly, Jeff Lynch, Chevon Kay and Sherry Childs Quinn; god-daughter, Deanne Christopher.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
