Johnnie Pops Turner, Jr. was born March 6, 1944 in Montgomery, Alabama to Alberta and Johnnie Turner, Sr. Johnnie will always be remembered for the loving, caring, funny, and charismatic person that he was.
Johnnie transitioned to his heavenly home on April 20, 2014. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Rodney Turner; daughter, Zyra (Ware) Turner; step-daughter, Lecia Brown; step-son, Rashad M. Callahan; grandchildren, Tataisha L. Winston, Tyrice L. Winston, Monte R. Davidson, Robert B. Brown, Deirdra S. Brown, and Crystal M. Brown; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Brown, Laila Washington, Robert Brown, Jr., and Tyler Jenkins; beloved, close friend and companion of 27 years, Ruby Tyes; and other relatives and friends.
Although Johnnie is no longer here, in the flesh, there are an abundant amount of memories that will be reflected upon.

Mr. Turner will lie in repose Sunday, April 27, 1-4pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 11am at the Riley Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour before the service begins.
