John Ellis Jones Jr., was a charismatic and loving father, son and brother. He left this world on September 28, 2022. He was born to proud parents, Maurine and John Ellis Jones Sr., in Cleveland Ohio. John leaves behind: a loving sister, Precious Jones; two sons, DeJason Jones and John Wesley Jones; daughter, Tiffany Jones; his mother, Maurine; and nephew, Jonathan Jones. Also many cousins in Cleveland, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois. He obtained his high school diploma and attended Max Hayes Vocational High School in Cleveland, Ohio.
My brother, what can I say about one of the most important people in my life? We were raised to be close, and I'm happy my mother taught sibling cooperation and understanding. John was a humorous adventurous person. Always wanting to explore new cities, towns, and countries to see people and places. He loved life, his children and his family. He was an avid bodybuilder. He liked being healthy from a young age. When you think to yourself, "this person should stay still for once," you understood his personality and understood movement was in his blood. He was well liked by most people, especially the ladies. He always wanted marriage and love in his life. He married young at age 18 and divorced at 21 but he continued looking and hoping for the right lady. He had the gift of being streetwise, smooth and clever which made him well liked. On several occasions I saw this play out from him and I was amazed. John was an avid reader of sports and law books, as well as communicating with men of knowledge but not fame. This helped him understand many things in the world.
My brother was what one considers a guy's guy. Sports, cars and the ladies he loved. He always maintained communication with me and our mother all the time no matter what state or country he was in. I was his little sister and I tried to do the best I could in helping him. I do believe he died too soon. He had too many people to love and more adventures in settling down that awaited. Before he was sick he talked about just being around his son and being a father and teacher to his youngest child in his life. He was so loved and will never be forgotten. Ps 55:22 says, "Throw your burden on God, and he will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to fall." We know he has not fallen but is with God.
